I have used Pro Show Gold for a couple of years and I think is really good, user friendly. I have put music to the files that were not MP3 format, but normal formats you would find on music CDs.

You an work on it and save the work and go back to it at a later time and add/delete, rearrange your existing show to your liking. It is very user friendly.

Powerpoint is also good, but my experience with Powerpoint is that if you want to share the show with other people then they would have to have Powerpoint on their computer in order to play the show. ProShow Gold will play on any computer even if the software is not on the computer being used.

I have also used other music formats. In prow show you can play on any computer, DVD or both. You can also make a screen saver out of it and upload to there web site

On both the Proshow and the Adobie Elements 4 you can save the file as a working document or you can save it as a final product which can not be changed.
