Hey all, I'm looking for a good slide show program I can get for a PC. Much like the on that Mac uses....where you can set a music to the background. Anyone?

I like pro show gold

Microsoft powerpoint is a fairly useful tool as well.

I've always used Microsoft Powerpoint. You can embed your songs into the show or just leave them in their own folder and set the timing in the slideshow to open the folder and the songs will play. Very cool. That way, your slideshow file is not so huge and it won't bogg down the computer.

I am using Proshow and like it a lot. The only drawback I have found is the audio files must be in MP3 format. You can load a fully functioning trial version off the web.
Photoshop Elements 4.0 also has one included. It works pretty good but it takes a very long time to compile the slideshow.

You can use openoffice's "Impress" program. Openoffice is essentially a freeware version of Microsoft Office, with Impress being openoffice's version of powerpoint. Nice thing about impress is that you can save the files as a flash file, so it's easy to districute it (any computer with a web browser can read it).

How many of these will let you save your work and go back to it? A program that came with my computer (Moviemaker?) lets you put pictures and music in but you have to finish the whole thing in one sitting.

Picture2Exe will let you edit over an extended period. I sometimes start with an existing show to modify and do a "Save As" for a new one.
