I am so hooked on it. I ate it every day for two weeks when I was in Pattaya for two weeks in October. Going to Philippians in April. I'll eat as much of it as I can get my hands on!
Eat moderately, the fruit is high in calories and carbohydrates.
 
I don't mind it to be honest, but I don't go out of my way to eat it.

Some Durian is better than others, and it has to be freshly fallen from the tree.

I certainly would never book a table at any restaurant or take a taxi to buy anything to eat.
I eat to live not the other way round.
 
I like fresh durian, whereas, I don't like it in a desert prep or a candy.

My father, who lived in SE Asia for half of his life, said it's like "eating peaches and cream in an outhouse".

I hate it, wife loves it.

It is not so much the (disgusting) smell during consumption (I do leave her alone to enjoy life), but the burping every now and then following it is unbearable for hours. Not to mention her breath...

Luckily we live as far away as possible from any source, hence all these happen rarely.
 
Apparently, they are a variety of durian, from what I was told, from simply rank to exhumed grave -- and dealers, I recalled, were kept a couple of blocks away from the "western" hotels in Bangkok.

I had always thought that the Mexican variety of papaya (over the Hawaiian), was worse smelling and tasting than the durian that I had tasted on a few occasions -- far more redolent of someone who had been violently ill on a bus; though the texture of durian -- so ain't custard, as some describe it -- really leaves something to be desired . . .
