Kind of sounds like one of those curmudgeonly old salts that specializes in tweaking the innocent. Knows his dive-stuff and willing to bull***t the rest, he delights in lightweight anti-social behavior, never realizing that half the time the joke is on him.

Something of a troll, perhaps, where rank may be more related to odor than any former position. Perhaps we should bestow upon him the penultimate cyberdiver title: Master Baiter.
