Not sure that I can make it any plainer than that. If you don't like a regulated forum, then there is always rec.scuba to go haunt. We don't want to become like them, so we will regulate when we have to.

And on behalf of all the Regulators (KN & LD included) thanks to all for the kind words on how the board is run!!! You guys make Scubaboard easy and FUN to moderate.

I have to agree with Aquatec. Who is Master Chief...who cares I dont want to know some one who cant even control themselves enough not to post porn on a message board that has minors on it or one that is about scuba. Very disrespectful and very distasteful.

In my humble opinion, this board is a great place, provided FREE to all who use it. The expenses are covered by the people who run it, and as long as we're not paying and are simply invited into someone else's domain (much like their home) I think we need to play by their rules!!!

In the Canadian Forces we have the traditional WO structure:

- Warrant Officer (Petty Officer 1st Class in the Navy)
- Master Warrant Officer (Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class in the Navy)
- Chief Warrant Officer(Chief Petty Officer 1st Class in the Navy)

there are a few appointments for a Chief (Canadian Forces, Command, Base)

But as far as I know (and I just checked) we don't have a Master Chief) perhaps it's a case of mistaken identity?

Then he was in the USN if he is a Master Chief. I wasnt refering to Canadian Military, in fact, i had no idea of the struture it uses until you posted it.

I wonder why would a Canadian pick a rank that doesn't exist in the Canadian Armed Forces? It is an American rank.

Doesn't Chief Petty Officer First Class have the same ring?
