Travelling with dive gear, camera gear, and normal stuff is already a big enough PITA. Who wants to add fragile, heavy bottles of booze to that in an effort to save a few bucks? Yuck. Good friend of mine had a couple of bottles of red wine break in her checked luggage ruining everything inside. I still laugh about that. While you're standing in line moving bottles between suitcases trying to get through security, I'll be at the bar.
I'm right there with you, except that D'aristi Xtabentun is not available here at any price.
