check out Clear Springs in Terrell. Vis is sometimes limited, but it's got easy entries, some fun stuff to explore and is an easy day trip from Mckinney

Lake Texoma shouldn't be that far from McKinney either. Other direction though.

ACK! Betty, go to Terrell. Pearldiver means well, and Texoma isn't that far from McKinney, but you are taking a big risk of losing your head (literally) in Texoma, due to the fact that it is crazy busy with boats and has poor vis. CSSP is a designated scuba park, much safer and clearer vis, air fills, platforms, stuff to see underwater, etc. As a newbie diver, you will probably really enjoy diving there, but IMO Texoma might be a bit stressful until you have more experience. I will be in Coz in late July, but I'm sure you would have Swampdivers available to meet and dive at CSSP.

Do the Dive Around Texas dives have to be done in 2009 only? I've dived in Tyler State Park, Clear Springs, Lake Hawkins (!), Blue Lagoon, Comal River, Aquarena, Lake Travis, but not all in '09.

Foo,
I'm pretty sure the dives have to be between Feb 14 and Sept 26, but even the Official Rules are not really clear. It states the eligible entrants may enter the Dive Around Texas Sweepstackes on Feb 14, but not that that's when the dives that are counted as an eligible entry starts.

No shortcuts, Foo!

When I get back from the Keys, I'm adding CSSP to my Dive Around Tejas logs.. Would be great to meet up with you and your family. When are you going to Coz?

Agreed, the rules are a bit ambiguous. Great prizes though!! I don't know if I will get by any of the dive shops listed, I'm at least an hour from any of them. :depressed: Anyway, it's a fun way to discover Texas diving, huh? Thanks, Carrie!
