What is the camp ground like? I am considering it myself. It has been a long, long time since I have been to Whitestar. Does the quarry own the campground? Any information would be helpful.
Thanks!

Jeff,
The quarry and campground are both owned by the Sandusky county park district. Information is on their website:
Sandusky County Park District
"White Star Campground is across from the park's main entrance. Primitive sites are $15 per site per night. Sites with water hook-up & electric hook-up are $25 per site, per night. Campground is open April 1 - December 31 and each site includes a table and fire ring.'
The electric sites are pretty new and thus don't have any shelter from trees.
I've always stayed in the primative sites. The cost is now $15 but that is for a site. Two units can be on each site thus splitting the cost. The trees are such that two or three sites are bordered by trees separating groups of campers.
o There are pit toilets that are just like the ones at the quarry. & they are well maintained.
o There is a newish bath house that has pit toilets, electricity and running water.
o There are a few mechanical pumps for general use to get water for the primative sites.
o As a county park no alcohol is allowed but I've never known anyone to have an issue if the group doesn't disturb anyone.
o There is typically a pile of brush and wood for the campers to use if they are willing to chop it up a bit.
My take.
