Hello all. My girlfriend and I are going up to Redding this weekend and looking to possibly do some diving in Whiskeytown. I've noticed that most of the threads on the lake are a bit old. Anybody know anything about the current conditions or sites? Really, any info on the lake would be very helpful. The flooded town sounds really exciting but does it allow for a decent bottom time? What's the minimum depth at which the town can be explored? Pictures? Topography? Life? Vis? Temp? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

On the same note, although slighty tangent: does anybody know where I can find pictures of this flooded town? There has to be at least one tech diver out there that spent some significant time down there getting footage, still or vid....
Please let me know.

Its not worth diving, IMHO. The town is at about 200 feet when the lake is full, beyond recreational limits, and its pitch black down there anyhow. Lake will be full of kokanee fishermen with their downriggers set and there is nothing interesting to see except silt dusted rocks and more silt.
