If I weren't out of town for work and on the weekends so much, I'd definately be tempted to start a saltwater aquarium.

Ugh.... I HATE waiting to go dive again. I may need to sneak out and come dive again!

Comon out, I won't tell :P

I am off Thur and Friday and am planning to take the snorkel gear and check out west pass Thur morning. I will let you know what it looks like. I just want to get in the water.

What kind of tip do you have on your pole spear? My old spear has a single point with two "wings" that keep the point from coming back through the fish. I am thinking I might want a 3 prong for flounder. What do you recommend?

Mat uses a "flopper" tip. Single point with one "wing" to keep it from backing out. On the one he loans to dive buddies, the shaft is curved, the point dull, and the "wing" soldered closed (making him look like the better hunter).:D

I would be concerned that the spread on the paralyzer tip may cause one or two of the points to miss the fish on poor shot. Heck, Mat will sometimes knife the suckers!

Both the polespears I have use a single rotating tip with two floppers wings. ;) Neither are bent, but both are very dull - LOL

The single tips are best for flounder because you can stack multiple fish without having to string them up after every kill. I think paralyzer tips are better for free-swimming fishies.

... knives work too ;)

Sounds good. I am conviced and will stay with my solid tip. Maybe I will run into a flounder or two at west beach.

Did they start dredging Callaway pass? I do hope they make it deep enough to get a boat out if they do
