Trying to decide between going to Nicholas Canyon with the Sandeaters, and somewhere in Laguna with the South Coast Divers tomorrow. Laguna is much closer, but parking probably sucks tomorrow at 8am. Nicholas Canyon looks like a nice shallow, easy dive, but it's a 2 hour drive, but then again it looks like it's got a big parking lot. I assume I'll find someone to buddy with at both club dives. Hmmmm.....

I was supposed to go diving today, but finally decided not to last night because of my sinuses. Just coming off a rare allergy/sinus attack I've had for the past couple days (those damn Santa Ana winds), and when I jumped in the pool last night my sinuses were hurting. So I figured I'd give them another day to shape up. But I'm definitely going tomorrow. Just not sure where....

McCabejc,
You are trying to choose between a rock and a hard place. Both are good places to dive. But with the orange county group, you don't know the site until you get there. Some Laguan sites are better suited to your current level than others. Deadmans for example is a long swim as is the Cleo Street barge. In both groups ( I must admit here I have only dove wtih the sandeaters) will most likely be able to locate a dive buddy.

I missed you at this moringins dive. Be careful with AFRIN as there is a rebound. But I noramly give it a shot at least 2 hours before I dive. If you are having any sinus congestion, stay out of the water until you are sure you are clear. Reverse blocks are not somthing you need.

I use Ocean spray daily. It helps keep your sinus clear and falls into the no harm no foul catagory, and I have noticed less sinus infections. I too have sinus trouble, but the Santa Anas were no problem. I did have sinus surgery in 2002. Have you discussed diving with your ent?

I am debating if I should run the rath of the wife and try to dive tomorrow again....hmmmm. Diving and a P*&^ wife, or stay home with the wife. Which to do? Let me see, I still have one empty tank and one full one in the garage. The wet suit is drying now. I have only dove 1 time in the past 9 days and next week could get complicated. Hmmm, a full tank in the garage.... I haven't dove with the sandeaters in several weeks.... Let me give it some more thought.

Well the wife came home from work today and I inquired about diving tomorrow. Guess what? She said "FINE" in a firm, clear and slightly loud voice.

So I can go with the Sand Eaters tomorrow. If you come, I will dive. If you don't, I will dive anyway.

Equipment's all packed. Two tanks in the car. Sinuses feeling great. And Sandeaters it is. See you there tomorrow.

A special thanks to my understanding wife who has not chewed me out about going diving yet again today. I am a fortunate man. McCabe, glad you could make it and I hope you had a good time.

And a special thanks to my girlfriend's employer, who scheduled her to work today, so that I could dive with you guys with no repercussions.

Now, to get her signed up for an OW class.....
