George stays near Killibob's Knob. He'll give you a bit of a fright when you first see him.

Oh yeah and that's one day ;>), a happy day, we had 6 and a half of those! Plus we also dove at Loloata.

in next october, the cruise was supposed to be "Kavieng/Walindi"
but they changed :why ? I've been told it's because there was problems with fishermen in Kavieng...?

and it's now supposed to be a cruise "Walindi/Fathers/Witu/Kimbe Bay"

is it worthy ?
:coffee:

That was our itinerary....Fathers & Witu's. Now listen closely....stare into my eyes...you are getting sleepy.....you want to pay for my way on the Star Dancer on your trip!

They dive New Ireland when the prevailing winds tend to be out of the north. That leaves some protected "known" diving on the South shore. The north shore of New Britain diving might be a little rougher due to not being protected from the winds. Later, when the prevailing winds shift, they move to New Britain Island. One year, the Winds that took us to New Ireland came out of the West. That made BOTH shores rough. We spent a deligtful month diving the channels. I don't regret a minute as the channels were wonderful.

I would guess that they are not doing Kavieng because they have better diving down in Fathers/Witus and Kimbe Bay. Then the weather can be a problem that time of year up there as well. It is alos a lot harder to mix the dives up a lot through out the day due to the currents - Albatross Passage and Plant Rock two great dives can only be dived on an incoming tide and around full or new moon the currents are strong to say the least.

As to cabins with the exception of cabin 4 and 5 all can be made up into double/king size beds. All cabins on the main deck have large picture windows, the Master cabin does not it has 4 very small windows just above the water line. cabins 2 and 3 are very nice.

Was at Killibobs recently and Geroge is still there, what an awesome sight, and looks like he has some friends at Leslies and Normans with another 2 great barracudda being reguarly seen there.

They had a pod of Orcas there just recently and unfortunately I just missed it by a trip, the people taht cam off that trip had a great time.

Cheers
Wayan
