Hi,

I was wondering, if a person has build up an extensive amount of muscle in the belly area to the point that it is like a beer belly, where would one wear the BC's cummerbund around? Should they wear it like they way a plumber wear their 'still size 38 waist' pants? Around the belly so that every time they take the giant stride, the whole thing seem to slide off like a wife beater? Wear a crotch strap and hope it doesn't ride to the center? Do only backflips from the platform?

My advice is to save the cummerbund for those black-tie occasions and buy a BC that doesn't have that incredibly stupid design feature.

I actually like a BC with a streatchy cumberbund. It allows you to snug things up without restricting movement.

If it's long enough (depends on the size of the beer belly), try to wear it across the belly button--or somewhere near there.

The purpose of the cumberbund is to keep the BCD from sliding up (the shoulder will keep if from sliding down). Its more effective under your belly or if you have a true waist. Otherwise you have to snug it up real tight. I am not crazy about them, they work to a degree most of the time. Often I have to readjust a depth after the suit compresses.

A crotch strap is 100% effective and no, it does not crush the boys. This on one of the reasons so many like BP/W, they don't wiggle around as much.

it is the same as backplate/wings, no? it is just webbing, which would create more of a discomfort due to its narrow width compared to the cummerbund. Maybe with the backplate harness, one could wrap the webbing all over, under thigh, above and below belly, just to make sure it stays in place.

Your joke reminds me of seeing people haul loads on a pickup trucks secured by a dozen or so randomly placed bungy cords instead of 2 straps in opposing axis.

everybody uses crotch strap and has no issues with it? Maybe I should post it in basic discussion site given this is a fit question instead of BC specific.
