I took mine at Hollywoodivers, too, and they did a good job. Shah no longer works there, however, so I can't give first hand reports on their current instructors, unless Hal or Kareem (both excellent) decide to actually go teach outside of the classroom for a change.

I've heard good things about Susan Grant also.

I did my Nitrox with Susan. And I'll probably do my Rescue with her as well...except that there's a new development now meaning I have to postpone my Rescue class for a while. I just got a full-time 6-mo consultant job, so time for Rescue training will be limited for a while. I do want to get to it as soon as I can, tho. More divers than I can count have told me that they didn't feel like real divers until after they'd taken Rescue.

As long as it's only full time., and not more than full time, I wouldn't think a job would interfere. I've been working continuously at corporate gigs for some time, and class sessions are almost always evenings after work, and open water (or pool) sessions on weekends, again, not during normal business hours.

Oh if only it was that easy. 1) You don't have kids! AAAUGH! That right there is a full-time job. 2) I still need to keep some freelance work going, even while I'm working full-time on this contract, so that I'll have some freelance projects to fill the gap between this and my next full-time contract.

Yeah I know, excuses excuses! It's like going to the gym -- you can always find reasons not to go...I need to work harder on finding reasons TO go! ;) We'll see how this contract job goes -- if it's not too demanding, I may be able to squeeze a Rescue class in. One must pick one's priorities, and diving is still way up there for me. :) (Of course, so is paying the mortgage...)
