I was wondering what do you attach to your bc so you can get it faster, or what do you carry in your bc pockets if you have any. Just trying to figure out what I need to have out and what needs to be in pockets, and what you even need to carry with you.

I clip my gauge on one the left-sided d-rings and my octo to one of my right-sided d-rings.

My light goes on either side, based on my mood. (If I carry it at all.)

I clip my whistle to an upper BC ring and my knife is semi-permanently secured on my inflator hose.

It all depends on what kind of bc you have. I have a SP Classic with weight intergration . Unless diving warm water i don't use the weight intergration so my lift bags go in those compartments back up light in chest pocket . Retractor for console upper right ring.

* Upper Left D ring, Console on a bungeed bolt snap (poor mans simple retractor)

* Upper right D ring, whistle on a short bungee that reaches my mouth and lights I actually have two upper D rings on my Sherwood Avid so the lights are staggered. On a day dive I just carry a 4C (Tec40) to peek into crevices. I also have a small bungee loop that holds my primary second to keep it safe pre & post dive.

* Lower Left D ring DSMB with finger spool attached, Unless we are pulling a flag, it comes.

* Lower Right D ring, optional catch bag

* RH pocket, slate

* LH pocket reserved for golf balls if I find any.

EMT snips hang from a holder on my left side (knife on right calf)

Alternate second is in a holder on a left side attachment point

Don't forget tables for your pocket.

I dive a Zeagle Ranger which is a rear-inflate, jacket style BCD. Primary light clips to the top d-ring on my left side. SPG/ Backup computer clips to the lower D-ring on the left. Wet-notes and my backup / pen light are in my left pocket. SMB and dye packet plus any other safety gear I'm bringing are in my right pocket. If I'm diving somewhere with stuff to collect (i.e. trash), I'll throw a small bag into the right pocket. Knife is on my left calf. Primary computer is on my left.

In select environments I've got sheers which attach to my right shoulder, thus far I have not used them.

The idea is to get the stuff you need most within easy reach. My wetnotes barely take up pocket space but I use them most where as the safety gear is rarely touches so I'll throw more into that pocket.

The only thing that has, thus far, gone into my zip pockets are: my mask defog, golfballs, money (I found), my beanie after it's ticked me off, and garbage that doesn't need to be in the quarry. Console is attached to the left upper D ring and knife to the leg. I don't have my safety gear yet (sausage, whistle, shears), but I will before Jamaica in Sept.

My computer clipped to my left D ring, a light on my right D ring. My knife is attached to my BC inflator hose and maybe something in my pocket depending on the dive.

Anything that I put in my pockets winds up mysteriously missing (did I mention that I bought my BC used for $50? It works great- but it lacks some nice perks!). I'm still trying to decide where to clip a flashlight if I decide I might want one (as opposed to on a night dive when I clip one SOMEWHERE and have an active one in my hand). I sewed on some D-rings (did I mention... yeah, I did...) to make things easier.

I have a safety sausage, whistle and slate hanging. Other than that... time will tell.
