This is from an older post and I know you have already purchased but....FYI.....
Here is what I found. I priced a high pressure 100 cu ft tank. steel tanks

World Water Sports $325 (plus shipping...?)
Dive Sales $280 (free shipping)
Dive Sports $340 (free shipping)
Scubatoys $300 (plus shipping....?)
EBay (new tanks) $300 (buy it now plus shipping)

I bet if you called scubatoys they will give you your scubaboard discount and they will be comparable or cheaper than Dive Sales.

I didn't even think of something like that. My LDS wanted $200 for an aluminum 80 so I steered clear. Oh well....

My lds also want's $200, but I get free air fills for LIFE. I've got 2 tanks and they're basically paid for.

I would speak with the guys at Tech Diving Unlimited.. They can ask you the questions to find out which cylinder is right for you.. Joel or Scotty can find the best cylinder for the application you intend to use it in...

Just my 2 cents

OUCH.... To bad you are not in Florida, I see them all the time in the classifieds for sale at 50.00 bucks for a 80 alum tank. Not sure you would have much luck looking in the classifieds in Oaklahoma though, but you may try... ya never know what you may find.

Or Divers Supply has them for 169.95 and shipping to Oak looks to be about 20 bucks....80 alum

Try looking here at their steel tanks. http://www.diveriteexpress.com/gas/steel.shtml Personally given the choice I would go steel every time. You are still carrying the same "gross" amount of weight but it is more centrally located "in the tank" and less on the belt. I find it helps maintain trim.

4 more days untill I can get wet in Jamaica... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hi Everyone,

My two cents worth since I just went through this whole ordeal. Like everyone says in the post before mine, aluminum tanks are positive boyancy when empty. Steel tanks are negative boyant. From all my research, steel is the best way to go.

Also here is the best deal I have found online. www.diveright.com has a high-pressure steel (PST) 80 tank for 199.00 delivered to your door. This is a smoking deal. You cant beat it. The difference between a low pressure and a high pressure tank is close to 1000 PSI. Hope this helps
