does anyone know where i can get a quality or atleast decent 200 bar din first stage?

200 bar DIN first stages are pretty rare. Most first stages available in the US can be used at 300 Bar pressures and come with 300 bar DIN connections if they are DIN equipped.

The good news is that the longer 7 thread 300 bar DIN connection works just fine in a shorter 5 thread 200 Bar DIN valve. 300 Bar DIN valves are 2 threads longer to prevent low pressure certified 200 bar DIN regs (which are rare anyway in the US) from being screwed in to them on accident. The shorter 200 bar connection will not seal, so you can't damage it accidentally.

300 bar DIN regs on the other hand can be used in the shorter 200 bar valves by design as there is no threat created by having a lower maximum operating pressure.

Why would you want a 200 bar DIN first stage??

I would love to hear the why. But how about a Poseidon Cyklon 300. There are a lot out there, 1st and 2nd , under $100.

I have two, trying to figure out what to do with them.

Sherwood first stages should be available as 232BAR DIN
but I'm not sure..
Also very interested about WHY?

Yeah, but that's not because of the first stage itself; it's because of the yoke that's usually on them in the States, which is only rated to 232 BAR.

Put a DIN fitting on the same first stage, and it's good up to the usual DIN 300 BAR. That applies to most (all?) other brands too

We've got two Sherwoods converted to DIN, and also two Mares.

As DA Aquamaster indicated, and most other folks have implied, you can use a first stage with a normal 300-BAR DIN fitting on a ~200-BAR tank with no problems, because practically any DIN valve will accept it.

In other words, if that's what you're asking, you don't have to have a specifically 200-BAR DIN first stage to mate with a 200-bar DIN tank valve.

We have an ongoing sale on Poseidon regs; trade in a Cyklon 300 & get a brand new Poseidon of your choice for a fraction of its cost. :D

The Cyklons with the so-called "metric" threads (G1/8", actually a British Straight Pipe thread) are the only 1st stages [#2305] that might be considered "problematic" because they need adapters to convert the 1st stage to handle current standard 3/8"UNF & 7/16"UNF threads.
Other than that, I'm still diving my 300, as is our head wrench cranking Mossback.
What can I say, they were great regs 30 years ago & they still breathe great, with an outstanding degree of reliability.:D
