Ok I feel a little like some shallow diving in a lake next weekend...

Any suggestions on where to go for nice and warm (73-80) diving around chicago?
I was thinking either Pearl Lake or France Park. Never been to either.
Has anyone been to either one of these two lately, if so what was the Vis, Temp, thermocline, etc..

Any other suggestions within 150 miles of chicago?

We have the Meet & Greet at Gilboa... A few of us will be making the drive out from Chicago..., Add at least 100 miles to your distance limit.. :(

Milwaukee is 90 miles away. Pearl is only good for training dives - I went once - never going back...

Haigh is the nicest thing around (other than Lake Michigan)

Actaully... It looks very nice and I am considering it... Especially since I've been to Haigh way too many times and Pearl seems like it will have terrible visibility. How are the conditions there now, do you know?

Conditions were awesome this past weekend both days. Right off the dock, 20' vis down to the platforms no problems. Down on the plane, I'd say 30-40'. You could see from attraction to attraction, i.e. from the bus to the boat to the plane.... OW Students were trying their best to muck it up, obviously best viz was in the am and got worse in the pm..., but overall awesome. Much better than the 5-10' I had at Haigh last weekend.

As much as I would love to go there... especially since the Visibilility seems phenomenal... I dont think I want to drive out that far. Does anyone know the conditions at France Park?
