Where to buy XTX50 second stage?

I suspect you may be right and if people want to edit posts and remove names, I certainly understand. Confining it to PM doesn't solve the problem as they would likely employ a mole and figure it out.

The US distributing practices make me really frustrated. Not only have they cost the LFS the sale because they are not allowed to be price competitive, but they have also virtually made it impossible to get a stand alone black second stage because they only import full sets and yellow octos.

For now, if I can find a European source, I'll stick with it, but if I can't and the US policies don't change, I'll will probably end up with a different brand the next time around.

BTW, Scuba store did respond to me and confirmed they aren't allowed to ship out of Europe anymore. Anyone going to Europe soon

As this "source" becomes more publicized, the U.S. arm of Aqualung/Apeks will consider this European retailer a threat to domestic sales and the "source" will dry up...just as Scubastore.com did. Or perhaps I'm just paranoid that big brother is looking over our shoulders.

Don't get me wrong, though. I think it's great that this kind of info is being shared. However, it might be safer to communicate this info via PM rather than on an open/searchable forum.

There used to be a AL and Apeks dealer that would sell split up stages. Sell just 2nd stages, etc.

but AL ran him out of his dealership because he would sell at 30% off and ship to customers....

In the end, it was the consumer who lost... thanks to AL. Which is why I don't support them anymore.

Good link. It would be great if a dealer dropped their prices then shared the ensuing aftermath to the goverment...

To close the loop on this one, I just got off the phone from ordering the reg from a US dive shop. They gave me extremely good prices and instead of 2 XTX50 seconds and a XTX200 first, he is getting me a XTX200 w/ XTX50 octo that he is going to replace the cover on to make them match.

It seems crazy that they could possibly get in trouble for offering a customer a good price that worked for us both, but in case that is true, I won't post the name here, but you can PM me for it.
