Right now I am roughing it out. The deadline has been extended so I am not under the same pressure. From the suggestions I have received, it would either be Roatan or Cozumel. I got back from Bonaire and while it was an awesome dive place, I would not go there to work on my script. Driving all over in a truck every morning, picking up tanks, then looking for food all over the place is way too time consuming to leave me much time. Thanks everyone for you help.
Thanks for letting us know. I think that a small, diver-dedicated all-inclusive resort with lodgings, food, and diving all in one spot may be the best option for you because everything is so easy and convenient. You can do 2 dives early, eat lunch, and write until dinner without interruptions; and continue writing after dinner if you wish. It should allow time for both diving and writing but you would have to resist the distractions of a resort environment (but there will be many distractions in any tropical vacation spot you pick, including just feeling lazy and wanting to sleep and relax).
It's been awhile since I have visited those locations but my memories of Cozumel include long boat rides to the reef. I just mention that because I know that you want plenty of time to write. I think some resorts are closer and some dive ops have faster boats, so keep that in mind when making your lodging and diving selections.
Also, I am not too sure about getting reliable Internet service on Roatan. Even the electricity wasn't very reliable as I recall! But that was a long time ago so things have probably changed, good luck!
