Made 2 dives yesterday in Table Rock Lake. Both were below 100ft!
Under H20:

What was the visibility and temperature like on your Table Rock Dive? Where did you dive at, on the lake? I have never dived the lake before and I am considering diving it on our annual vacation from June 13-20. We will have a boat and be staying near the Joe Bald area close to Kimberling City.

Dove 4 times over the weekend, two yesterday and two today... The Dive Stop in New Melle, MO (

Strange event happened my last dive... we were diving shallow along the wall about 15 feet down looking at the ledges where the fish were hiding when another diver (a local instructor who I know) dove over to us and gave the thumbs up signal. Surprised, it took a minute to realize he was talking to us... we went up and the guy running the quarry today was on the shore, asking all divers to get out of the water because lightning was striking nearby... while we were down a thunderboomer had rolled up on us. We complied (I was down to 1000 PSI anyway and we were just tooling around till I hit 500, the dive was basically over) and no sooner were we out than the storm really cut lose. What was already bad visibility (5 feet along the southern shore, about 1 ft along the northern shore), no clear water that I could find at any depth) quickly deteriorated to nothing so we just left the last tanks in the car and decided to leave it at two dives today.

First time I have ever had a dive called because of rain (I dove through Ivan last year, that was amazingly bad viz).

Did 1 dive today. Monastery Beach in Carmel. Great weather and no surf to speak of. Vis was 20-30 ft under the kelp beds.
54ft, 45min.

Great day for diving.

Seven dives over the weekend at Himalaya Bay, Mexico. Two on Friday, four on Saturday (including my first boat dive), and one this morning. Maximum depth was this morning's dive, going down to 40' (and we had to go a ways out to get that - long swim back!). So far, what we've found of the bay is a max depth of about 35 feet, right around the entrance at the tip of Mushroom Rock.

At any rate, all were to deeper than 20' for 20 minutes or more, so per the discussion elsewhere, they count. :D

Water was 81 degrees or better all weekend. Visibility Friday and Saturday ran anywhere from around 15 to 30 feet, but on Sunday it was murky; most of the time, maybe 5 to 10 feet, and sometimes, less than five feet. We thought about trying to get two dives in this morning, but decided to go ahead and finish packing up so we could hit the road to home.
