When was this G250 made? can I upgrade?

I purchased a used scubapro G250 reg on the purge button it says scubapro g250 graphite. when was this made and can it be upgraded to the newer style hp?

I'm no expert at this but it looks like the 250hp is a new version of the 250 that uses the guts (design) of the S600. I'm not sure the upgrade (probably all new guts including the barrel) would be worth it unless something is seriously wrong with it. I get the impression from some discussion on this board that the older version may even be more desirable.

I use one of those on most of my dives. I've never used a better second stage. I bought it new in 1986.
