I have a Zeagle Zeus, the male equivalent of the Xena, with a 35 pound lifting capacity, which dated from 2005-6, around the same time that the Xena was first distributed. It still remains my favorite light duty / travel BC -- and you can cinch the daylights out of it, should you have, eh, back issues . . .Hello all. I’m trying to figure out the maximum age, roughly, of a used Zena. It has a 34 lb bladder, not 31. Does anyone know what year Zeagle made that change? Thanks!
I’ve searched through a bunch of threads here and on Reddit and can’t pinpoint the change date. I was not able to locate a tag with a serial number on the harness itself, just on the bladder. (000656786). The velcro, fabric, straps and most of the plastic look pristine so presumably it didn’t see much use (unknown provenience….and I’m going to have the local shop check it out prior to using it). It does have the newer inflator elbow style versus the t-configuration used sometime in the past.Amusingly, the site lists both capacities in different spots. Perhaps post a picture of both the harness and the serial number tag and see if anyone offers further insight?
This helps. I have 3 Zeagle BCs in the family. Stiletto, Lazer, and Zena. The Lazer and Zena have the new style inflator elbow. The Stiletto has the older style. Stiletto was purchased sometime in 2014. The Lazer was purchased in 2015.It does have the newer inflator elbow style versus the t-configuration used sometime in the past.
