If you look at your inflator hose of your BCD, you will find that it connects around the plastic tube in your BCD with a couple of wrap around clips! Can anyone tell me what those are called?

Thanks -

What make and model BCD are you referring? Thanks!

Unfortunately most gear does not come with an illustrated parts list so the factory terms have a hard time becoming mainstream.

The clips you are describing I believe are those that hold the LP and corrugated hoses together. If I needed to refer them I suppose I'd call them LP hose clips or QD (Quick Disconnect) hose clips.

As an aside one is usually lore than enough. If it has a wicked bite when putting the hose in the clip you may want to whittle the opening to make it easier on you and the hose. Many divers don't even use them. Generally restraining the LP hose on the shoulder strap will keep the inflater accessible and give you maximum freedom to lift and vent.

Are you referring to something that looks like this?

If so, you're talking about zip-ties. A great item to have in your save-a-dive kit!

YES! Thanks so much. This is what I need to fix my BCD because the inflator hose came apart from BCD.

Thanks so much folks -

I will keep extra ones in my save a dive kit too.

Make sure you have some of varying sizes of these zip ties/cable ties; they are also useful for attaching mouthpieces, closing broken zippers on luggage, etc..

and don't buy cheap ones. Get a quality zip tie rather than some cheap crappy ones. The difference is a buck or two in cost and a good one will usually stay on until you take it off rather than just popping loose.
