Hi I go up a couple of times a year to Bali just to dive in Tulamben mainly. Anyone dived Selang and what's there and what's the diving like?

GIli Selang is a very small island separating two shallow very lovely patch of corals.
The slope of the island could have terrific ripping current and amazing related marine lif, it's actually one of my favorite dive around amed but you definitely want to go there with someone that know the dive site.

I have and was quite dissapointed, probably due to the lack of current the day we went.
On the sheltered part, I didn't find the coral patches were as spectacular as the one you can see around Nusa Penida for instance, the coral is understandably very low or barely existant on some parts of the slope where the current runs. Since there was only little current, we didn't see exciting marine life.
I am a photographer, IMO it's not a site that I'd favor with the perpective of shooting images, there are much better sites for that around Bali (think Crystal bay, Toyapakeh, Mangroves, even Tepekong on a good day, etc.) .

Then on a photo point of view i would try the sites on the coast before Gili Selang ( Kusambi, Three fingers etc)
