yeah, we're coming back to sunnyvale as well..never seen it as bad in monterey

Vis at breakwater for the night dive last night wasn't bad...Fifteen feet in most places...

luvspoodles:
What is the vis at breakwater typically on a day dive?

It varies...I'm not sure what is typical....Maybe 10-15 is decent enough. It all depends on whether the place has been inundated with students that day, what the surge is, whether the sun has caused the water to green up, etc.

15 feet felt nice last night because I was comparing it to the six feet viz we have on the same night dive a week ago...

The vis was quite good sunday morning. Even saw a wolf eel on the wall, which was unexpected.

Just a reminder for those that have never dove in Monterey:

Even when the viz is only 10 feet, you will see more in that 10 feet in Monterey than you would see in 100 feet at many other places!

I completely agree! After doing my AOW checkout dives there last weekend I loved it! I have told people that it is prettier and more intriguing than the Carribean, and they are shocked. I can't wait to go back.
