Whats a good computer with these features?

Yeah, that helped alot. Can you link me to the Atom so I can see what it looks like? I am not that familiar with these units so sorry if my questions seem dumb. Do you use the SPG with a wrist mount? How does it work? Doesnt the Atom wrist mount give you a psi reading?

Well the Atom is eve more money the rest of the ones suggested above, very nice unit but a bit more pricey. The Atom is also air integrated, it has a small transmitter on the first stage that displays the psi/bar remaining on the wrist unit.

The other way to do it is to have an SPG as well (if your computer is not ai), the pressure gauge is not on your wrist, rather on a hose clipped off to your side, the computer is the only thing that is on your wrist. You still check both on a regular basis, but the computer that is on your wrist has the depth, NDL limits, time etc. those change more then the gases left in your tank.

Well, what ever you do... it's my vote that you don't get a console computer. Instead I would suggest that you get a wrist computer. I like my Atmos 2 on my wrist, where it doesn't dangle. It's also more compact this way.

One thing I can say is

"D9 is not what you are looking for." You need to push so many times with the thick glove (even 5 mm).

I have used the Cobra for a few hundred dives and like it. The battery is cheap and last a long time. My personal preference is a console rather than hoseless, but that's me.

I would want a console computer and my budget is a pretty open just nothing that extreme. I dont need anything fancy just something that meets those requirements and is reliable.

I have to second the suggestion to look at the Aeris AI. It's a compact console unit, and not any bigger than just having a pressure gauge/compass and a wrist mount computer. Now that said, if I were buying something today, I'd strongly consider a hoseless AI computer and spend the big bucks. I figure my Aeris will be great for the next 4-5 years, then I'll be wanting something new anyway and go hoseless!

Do you care _how_ it computes remaining NDL? What algorithm it uses. Some people like the Suunto because it uses RGBM and is a bit conservative but other s like those made bbbby philogic (sp?) and marketed by brands like Oceanic, Sherwood, Aeris becasue the give you more time. It will be hard to define "best" unless are very specific about which feature are most importent to you.

Other things that could be improtent to you are how easy it is to read in various lighting condidtions. My current computer does not work well at night and some of the numbers are to small. Do you need nitrox? Will you want it later. User replaceable batteries? Lots of things to think about
