Looking for advice on what the typical diver would do in this scenario. We booked a two tank dive. We completed one dive and had to miss the second because of a diver in the group who had difficulty breathing and had to be brought back to shore. Would you expect a refund for the second dive you did not complete? Or do you just eat it? Obviously don’t want to be the Ahole since it was because of medical event and we obviously feel terrible what happened to the diver (who is okay btw). But seems standard to get a refund if only completed half the dives through no fault of our own? But also not fault of dive shop either

My vote is for a partial refund. You entered into a contract for services to be delivered (two dives). Everyone except for the diver that needed to return should receive half the fee

Might be worth checking in with your travel insurance, but I wouldnt ask the charter to refund. They did the best they could with the situation.

I had two dives booked in tahiti, surface interval between them is done back at the shop though and theres time for lunch. when i came back for the second dive they said the rest of the group wasn't gonna make it because someone got hurt on the island doing something. They refunded me the second dive and gave me a coffee.

No ifs and or buts. This was not on me in any way.
Company offers a refund. We can discuss a credit if time in area allows.
If this doesn’t happen…
1. I am never diving with that company again
2. Every one I know will be told of the crappy policy, Reviews on yelp, trip advisor, Reddit, Scubaboard, etc.
Dive charter company needs to have insurance for this or bear the loss. Their other customers are blameless and don’t deserve to be out of pocket.
