reg/gauges,computer, camera, light. misc electronics, papers, c cards, batteries etal, and a tee shirt with shorts in your samsonite 3" briefcase. Light weight bc, 3mm full, mask, snorkel , gloves, booties emt shears save a dive kit with extras, empty DuH! weight belt ,bathing suit and clothes in carryon. Fins the problem. Once I just stuck them in a plastic bag as if I had just bought them at the airport. Most people forget they get One carryon AND on purse or briefcase. The key is to use a real Briefcase.

I was thinking about buying a reg bag which is about the same size. I guess I will buy a cheap 3" briefcase.

I have a Cressi Aqualight-R BC which I specifically bought for travel to tropical areas.

Using the largest allowable carry-on (with wheels) I was able to get the BC, regs, gauges into it quite easily.

However because I end up needing lots more space , I end up checking in a full-size suitcase with ALL my gear, and bring the regulators on board in backpack size case.

I hate checking in luggage, especially with expensive gear in it. I want to try to fit my BC, Reg, computer into my carry on. Do you think I can get it all to fit? The BC is the only thing that will give me a problem. Any suggestions to cram it all in one bag small enough to carry on? My computer is a AI wrist mount so I could even wear that.

Oh, the BC that I am leaning towards getting is the Scuba Pro Knighthawk.

When you gear was lost, did you get it back? If not did they reimburse you 100%?

They got it back to me. The first time they lost my bags it took them less than a day, then on my way home they lost my bag for three weeks, third time they lost it I got it back in two days. I have a really low opinion of airport employees.

I have an Air Source on my BC so I carry on my reg and BC. My BC is a Balance by seaquest and packs fairly flat. But if I were to lose (wrong destination) my BC then I would have to rent one and probably have to have an Octo temporarily placed on my Reg. Now I'm diving with an unfamilier setup. I REALLY don't like that... Everything else I'm willing to rent or buy at my destination.

I'll have an air source on my BC as well. I'll have to get creative and find a carry-on bag and a way to get my BC into it.

LL Bean adverstses a carry-on that is 9x22x14 that supposed has 3,114 cu inches. I don't see how since the measurements don't work out to that---unless it bulges in places. Anyway, it is the largest "carryon" I've come across. I think I'll order it and try it for size. It is #GJ53799 medium. (It says it is "legal" for carry-on)

I, too have an Air2. It seems like my BC is a giant (Seaquest Diva). And when my luggage was delayed (for 5 days) in Bonaire, I had to "rent" a different air hose for the rented BC for another $25!--And had no octopus or any alternate air source. So I am determined to get it all into a carry-on this next time.

Any other warm bodies to exploit?

I did wear my eclipse once due to being over weight.

You could buy clothes when you get there....

I use a frame less back pack (2500-2700 cu I think). I pack it full and then use compression straps to compress as I can. It fits nicely into the overhead compartment. When I deplane I put it on my back and this leaves both hand completely free for the lugages, kids, food etc.

LOL...Who needs the pfd from under the seat cushion anyway?

When I fly out of Logan in Boston, I like to have on my BC AAAAAAND mask and snorkel.
