Just inherited some 1990's SP gear from one of my old buddies I dove with back some time ago. I remember when he was diving it, but, wonder what became of some of this stuff that seems to no longer be around. In particular is one of his steel tanks. The tank valve is a "flip" valve vs. a "twist" style. Any thoughts on these? Continue using?

This guy..... modular with a "flip valve" - SP branded

1992-1995 ish.....

yoke/din face....

thinking it might go nicely on my pony (swap some valves around).... then again, maybe not...

(tank last passed a vip & hydro about 6 years ago - rather doubt it wouldn't pass again)

The concern might be easy on = easy off. May not be good with back gas but probably fine on a slung pony.

Actually has a "lift to unlock" on the lever to move it... its more like "full on - full off"..

I've never seen that.. maybe it is from overseas?

Doubtful... Anyone got SP catalogs - circa 1992-1996?
