Yes, I believe that would be PNG.

Have total blast & stay out of the saloons in Port Moresby after dark. In fact, daytime, too.

Have fun.

I have been on 2 extended trips using Lariam (6 months Africa, 5 1/2 months Asia) and did a fair amount of diving (70 dives on Asia trip)! I never experienced any kind of side effects! My question is: could I perhaps have been lucky and have a bad experience on my next trip (Asia 4 1/2 months) or should I expect to be trouble free again? Has anyone used Lariam on a number of different occasions and had a unpleasant experience on one of them? Has anyone been refused by a dive operation because they were taking Lariam? Thanks!!!

My wife is my dive buddy so the salloons are out evan if I wanted to. We will only be in Port Mosby 3 hrs then on to New England, six days there then back to OZ and four days at Osprey reef. Anyone know how to send a postcard to SB.

Many people take mefloquine without side effects that spoil vacations or seriously threaten safe scuba. However, it seems possible, although unlikely, that one could experience serious adverse reactions to mefloquine even through two previous courses of prophylaxis were unremarkable.

Yes, there are venues where you may be denied diving if you are taking mefloquine, such as in Australia. Best to check ahead.

Best regards.
