I find this thread very interesting. In my experience, the way a regulator breathes and performs can be very subjective. I have been fortunate in my life to have owned the vast majority of the major brands of regulators produced. Many have stayed in my collection, many have been sold off. To date, my favorite second stage is the Kirby Morgan Superflow. While these may be heavy to some, I prefer to call them robust. When properly tuned, they remain serviceable for years. I have mated them with several first stages and all have performed admirably. They were also marketed as the Abyss Explorer years back but they are identical in every way but the decals. I have accumulated several examples of these fine regulators and they will be the last to go.
