@jersey - I'm up for a mid week trip, just let me know when. Agree about the state stores...it's just not civilized.

@thal - BSA rules don't allow for 4 skin divers...it's an agency quirk.

SC - the arcane, antiquated and idiotic laws for adult beverages in PA persists.

Some things never change! That's just how I remembered it. Carter was President.

Think about the PLCB next time you hear someone refer to SC as backward. We might run Alvin Greene for Senate, but even in the Bible Belt we have better liquor selection. :shakehead:

I am in Portland, Maine this week, taking classes. The hotel is adjacent to the Sebago, microbrewery. Had a really good dark brown with dinner last night!
Portland has several microbreweries, including Gritty McDuffs, Shipyard, and at least one other besides Sebago.

Enjoy! If you find any real gems, could you ask if they have retail distribution? Some are on-premises only, or maybe growler sales, but no product packaged for off-premises retail. Thanks!

Good to see Black Sheep Brewery represented :) try some of our others, but sadly they are at their best on draught, through hand pumps (correctly known as 'beer engines') so bottles & cans are only a dream of the real thing. try some Thwaites or some Tanglefoot.

The guy who likes american beer, if that's your favourite then fine, the usual bar stuff (Bud etc) just isn't to my taste much too cold & fizzy, but last time i was over there the Microbreweries were just taking off & i was impressed.

the guy who likes Chimay, i love the trapist brews, but prefer Westmalle to Chimay.

My condolences, not sure I could ever do that.

Don't cry for the BigDawg - his wife knows how to homebrew. Now after the Jackets sting the Dawgs this fall, then you can cry for him.

:)beerchug: Erick!)

OK, I haven't had time to come back to this thread for a few days so here's my question,

If all you Mainstream American beer haters were diving in the US somewhere warm, let's say FL or Socal in the summer and just got done with a day of diving and there was Tri Tips on the BBQ and an ice cold cooler full of free Bud, Coors, Miller, PBR, Oly, and Hamms, you're telling me you'd turn it down?

Oh yeah, and you DIDN'T bring your own, and there was no store nearby.
