One of the best SCUBA instructors on the planet teaches a NAUI course in your neighborhood. His day job is at FAU and you can PM here under the screen name MB. If you're dead set on PADI - good luck.

Good luck!!!!

I go to FAU, so that's great! I will contact him.
I also got some good suggestions from Kristy aka "waterbearer."
My brother also wants me to get advanced certified so that we can "play with the sharks" in Thailand which he says is fun.
riiiiiight. :14:

Stop that Walter! I told you I wasn't going to pay you for saying nice things about me!:rofl3:

Joni - I got your PM and will chat with you soon. And I'll start collecting sharks for the pool sessions!

Thanks Don!
and Thanks, MB!

Don... We're from the same neck of the woods... I'm from Houston!
But where do you scuba in Texas? If you scuba there, you'll just find oil!

I decided to get certified at Force-E in Boca Raton. the owner "Bob" seemed to be the most knowledgeable with the most experience of the other local shops.

Then I have to get my advanced cert so that I can play with the sharks!
aaaaaaah!

Houston is only 564 miles away, but I have dived the Blue Lagoon at Huntsvill there. I wouldn't do it again, but - it was okay.

It's only 111 miles from you to Key Largo, tho. I'll be there Nov 11 for some very special dives. Wanta come...?
