I'm looking for a well-rounded book that talks about everything i need to know

now i understand theres lots of books specifically geared towards lenses and dslrs etc.

but im new to the DSLR world and words like apiture and such and looking to start at baby steps in learning the terminolgy of things

Now key world its "Well-rounded" book a little bit of everything

thanks again

p.s I refuse to buy any book from PC for dummies or DSLR for dummy franchise
just out of principle.

This forum is like a book plus more but i cant take it with me to Iraq =0(

If you're looking for a single book, I'd recommend The Underwater Photographer, Fourth Edition by Martin Edge. The fourth edition was published earlier this year and is an excellent source for basics and everything on up. Many folks consider it the bible of UW photo. It discusses both SLR and P&S cameras. It has greatly expanded the info on P&S cameras from the Third edition.

There is an excellent review on wetpixel.com at:

Review: The Underwater Photographer by Martin Edge :: Wetpixel.com

and another in the May 2010 issue of Underwater Photography, a free, on line magazine. It's issue # 54.

Be safe in Iraq.
