Wonders never cease! Who woulda thunk it ??? ;)

Pidgie, we just left the 7th of Nov, and the eagles were coming in. In fact, some of the far south sites saw them. We didn't. :(

i saw a really big one at del cedral wall on nov 6th !!
really mayby 2, one was swimming then i lost sight of it, then a few minutes later 1 is on the bottom, it seemed to be feeding, but i did not see anything, it was just laying on the bottom in the sand,i got within 5 or 6 feet from it...

Fine! :scorned: For the next five minutes, you are my least favorite person in the world.

I might be your least favorite the next 5 minutes then.

Diving the C58 in May, we saw 5-6 spotted eagle rays. Might have been the same ones twice, of course, on opposite sides of the wreck. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean..I never get to see them either..in fact it's become quite a joke among my fellow divers ! But what I meant by my question was...I think the end of Eagle ray season is the first part of March, so if he waits until the end of the month, he will have less chance of seeing them. Correct me if that's changed.

They generally enjoy slightly cooler water temps. February has traditionally been a good month to see squadrons of them at some dives sites... so early March is LIKELY to be better for that than the end of March.

My husband saw a single at Columbia Shallows a couple of days ago, feeding. A different kind of spectacular than seeing seven or eight of them coming at you down Santa Rosa wall. :-)

We were there last March in the middle of the month. Water temps were 78 to 80. We saw a few single eagle rays at the southern sites and squadrons of them on northern reefs. You really have to watch the currents on those northern sites, though.

I only get 2 days this Feb, hopefully I'll get really lucky! :D
