I keep seeing references on SB to folks taking fundies classes. New and ignorant here, just trying to learn the terms.

It's a class where the Fun you get out of diving dies.
lakewinni:Its called DIR Fundamentals. Its a class offered by an agency called GLobal Underwater Expolers (GUE). It basicly covers the basics of a system of diving called Doing It Right (DIR) which was developed out of cave diving by the founders of GUE. The class itself is a very intense class which covers Fundamental skills, such as proper trim, bouyancy, DIR gear configuration (which is very strict), ascent, descent, OOA drills, valve drills, etc. It generally has a very low pass rate of the first attempt. It is also required to move on to any other GUE classes. It pretty much introduces you to a new way of diving, or did for me at least.
