Since joining this board a last year, I had time to reflect on what I have learned. In no particular order;

1. The importance of staying hydrated before and after a dive.
2. Don't go jumping into a hot tub after a dive.
3. With 70 dives under my belt, I still have much to learn.
4. The exsitence of DIR.
5. The need for safety equipment.
6. Honest answers to honest questions.
7. There are people out there who share my passion for diving.
8. The importance of doing basic drills.
9. You aren't going to make alot of money being a DM.
10. Be prepared for anything to go wrong.
11. Stay close to your buddy.

Thanks to everyone,

Dave (aka "Squirt")

There is always more to learn Dave! At 10 dives I thought I knew everything. At 100 dives I KNEW I knew everything. Don't know how many dives I've done now, but now I realise how little I actually know! There is always more to learn! I spend time looking through old texts, but this site is such a great resource for knowledge and information with all the great diving minds fueling it.
Wish I'd found it earlier!

12. I prefer to be in the company of divers
13. It's never too late in life to become an arch nemesis

14. the importance of trim and bouancy.
15. setting goals, even if they may not be attainable
16. That DIR and Non-DIR can coexist on the same website...:D

Trim and bouancy are probably the biggest single items that I worked on for the past year. I didn't want to be the "bad example" that is pointed out for new divers. I've just finished my Intro to Tech Diving class, and tweaked up the skills.

17. That I am narked at depth, whether I am halucinating or not.

18. that buying scuba gear online is taboo!:sofa:
