I work in a semi comercial diving setting where I work on boats and houseboats so I could see my self using a lift bag in the near future to lift something, but other than that is there anything else you guys use them for?

can an SMB used to hang on for deco, or is it not with enough buoyancy?

thanks!

Mine sits on the bottom of my backplate waiting to get used.
Its there in the off chance either I find something, or my wing and drysuit fail and I need some lift.

The lift bag is used to hang on at deco and also as a signal there are divers below who are coming up.

It serves mostly as a safety device, more than a lifting aid.

You could use it to send small items to the surface.
Or in my case, I hope it gets me to the surface.
I have 50# lift bags on the back of the plates, thats more than the lift in my wing.
Should be enough to lift me.

I always thought that the bag couldnt come out of the water enough to be seen? I thought thats what an SMB is for?

My lift bag a Carter 35lb is also my surface marker.......

Plenty to hang at 15' on.........

And in a pinch it has become my surface dive flag........

The lift bag will look like a beach ball on the surface.
