One of the things I love about diving is not having to listen to people blabber on.

You got that right! No pagers, no cell phones...

While deco'ing, I like just chilling out, replaying the dive, and keeping an eye on the rest of the team.

Heh - think the guy who wants the coms wants a working underwater cell phone too?

Oh yeah the actual question -- during deco -- watch for cool stuff in the water -- think about good stuff (somehow I never think about work or anything like that) -- look at other people --- sing --- just taking the time to enjoy being out in the water --

Although sometimes I am freezing my tail off and watching the time tick, playing games with myself trying to trick myself into believeing I am not as cold as I am.

What is your motivation for your "DEEP diving" and why aren't 80-100 foot dives cutting it for you?

Kimber

LOL, I enjoy 20' beach dives. I just want to go deeper. Enter the Tri-mix world and so on. So I guess my motivation is the adventure and thrill of it.

Unfortunately, I've gotten to the point where this continues topside and I spend most of the work day thinking about the next dive.

Hey everyone just wondering what everyone does on there stops wheter it be tic tac toe listening to tunes or just plain chilling out :07:

Practice skills! What level are you? If you are at least advanced open water you should being doing skills:Any time I am on a hang, wheather a Rec. wreck or running doubles. If on a single, get buoyant, practice valve shut down, switch to your deco bottle, then back to youe back gas. This is a great time to keep up on the valve manipulations.Come off the line with your jon line when its rough, keep those buoyancy up. On a hang in no current, come off the line, pick a spot and hover.Slip out of your gear while remaining at a fixed spot and don maintaining Bouyancy. Finally, when your ready to ascend, come off line, shoot your bag and reel to the surface. To deploy is not as easy as it looks, so practice when you don't have to, and you will be more efficient when you do NEED to use it! Don't just float Idol, use your hang time as a training Time. You will notice your hang will go by much faster and you will be a much more proficient diver....Capt. Tom
