I was just curious what most experienced divers consider cold water. The lake I dove in this past weekend was 52 degrees at 55'. The thermocline was around 45 feet, the temperature in the water changed nearly 10 degrees.

Zider do you dive in a wetsuit or use a dry suit? I use a 7 mill suit with hood and gloves here in Va and it seems do fine around the low 50's.

Scubagolf, thanks for the input. A good reason to take some vacations to the tropics. I've learned keep the wife happy and everyone is happy!

Not big on cold water :).

Anything below 15 degrees Celsius or 59 degrees Fahrenheit to me is cold. I only have a 5mm wetsuite though, no hood or gloves.

Anything under 60F would be cold water to me.

Shoot, I dive a dry suit in anything under 90 . . . :)
