Good reminder to get back to some basics! This is actually one of the reasons I'm planning on more training (either Rescue or GUE/UTD Fundies - not sure which yet). It's been 4 years since I took any sort of training - it's been all play and no work! ;)

Last month I took Rescue from Steve Millington and Disney Samutsakorn of LA Scuba Diving (L.A. SCUBA DIVING : Professional Scuba Instruction - Los Angeles, California 818.749.3483). I highly recommend them. The open water scenario dives were at the dive park in Catalina.

..........Now for the funny part, three of these fellows including myself have had D/S floods because we did not get our zippers fully pulled down! HMM..........

My mantra never varies: Three hard pulls on each reg while standing on dive platform, hold and watch corresponding SPG for each reg. Quick puff on suit, quick puff on wing, drop. It is very easy to tell if your suit is zipped and the wing is connected, you can feel the suit pull and the wing expand a bit. I have a stellar record for hitting the water prepared, misfires from the platform er, ah, well...
