What are the pros/cons of this valve? Also, who has used an HP80?

I guess the reason I thought the 2nd valve might be a 300bar DIN is because the image title says "va300" and the first one "va200". So the 2nd one might very well also be a 200bar w/out the plug. It does look like the first one is a plugged manifold valve.

Good eye. I didn't notice that the first time, I only noticed the sticker on the valve that says "3,000 psi", or 200 bar close enough. Not that it matters a single whit. :)

I have one thing that could be a problem with the top valve. If you are using Yoke regs, there is a chance a thick yoke could prevent you from mounting it properly. A friend had a valve like this on a tank (he bought the tanks as doubles and split them). His regs (I think Atomic) had a very wide sidewall on the yoke clamp and it prevented the reg from getting a good seal. Luckily he was able to borrow a reg (DIN) and just had to take out the converter plug.

It seems to me the top sits a little lower on the valve in the top one.

I also use atomic reg, and my current tanks are HP100 with thermal convertible valve. I haven't had problem with the yoke attachment tho. I wonder if the brand of the valve has anything to do with this issue.

I would expect it is valve dependent, and I'm only about 75% sure his regs were Atomics.
