Its all about the rivalries in the CFL and NHL.... sasketchewan has a better football club in the CFL and Edmonton has a better NHL club in hockey.... :mooner:

That's spelled Saskatchewan. Go Riders! And hey, there's a great thread down in Whine and Cheese with your name on it. It was a VERY entertaining read. Thanks for that.

Oh, in English: A clever saying, phrase or witticism; often, a witty riposte in dialogue.

Yes. It's a French phrase that has made its way into the English language because in two words it says much more.

Gonna start another thread. One about diving not arguing. kevin

Kevin post away with your diving experiences. I like to read about them. Pictures are better yet. I might not dive the way you do but I like to read about people that are down there diving the way they want to. Seek, explore, enjoy, have a great day diving today!

It has? Maybe closer to Quebec. If I ever heard or saw it used in Texas or even a Mensa gathering in another state, I forgot. We don't use many French phrases in the southwest US.:

No, not closer to Quebec. (Saskatchewan is about as close to Quebec as Minot ND is to Philadelphia.) I speak French about as well as I speak Spanish...meaning, not very good. These words appear regularly in English literature, well-written magazines like The New Yorker, etc. etc. I just Googled it and there are literally pages and pages for it, including Ipad apps, communications corporations with the name, etc. etc. Don't know if you are familiar with the blog Protein Wisdom (I think he's maybe stopped writing it) but even he used it in one of the Google hits. Jeff is an American and pretty sure he's a Mensa member.

My bad. I'm old west Texas country boy and just missed it.

A ScubaBoard Staff Message...

Thread sanitized. There are a few less sock puppets as well as posts in here.

If you see things getting ugly and/or suspect a sock puppet,
PLEASE use the
report.gif
button rather than starting WW III here in Coz.

This will help preserve my sanity and patience. Thanks
