Whale sharks in September

Hi,

We are going to Isla Mujeres in the first half of September. I know the whale sharks season lasts to September 15th this year. Did anybody go so late in the season? Are the sharks even still there?

Also if anybody has a particular dive operation they could recommend on Isla Mujeres, it would much appreciated.

Hey Szczerber,

We we will be down there at the same time. From what I'm reading, the whale sharks should still be in great abundance. We are heading out September 1 for our day trip to find them. The excitement is definitely building. We are diving with Squalo Adventures for our other dives. Good reviews from some of the locals on this forum prompted me to check them out. We opted for the whale shark outing with a separate group due to fanatical reviews On Isla Mujeres - Custom fishing trips, snorkeling, chartering and custom tours, including swimming with the Whale Sharks. They had two more slots for September 1. Hope to meet y'all on the boat. Graham and Dawn
