We are heading to Ginnie Springs, around the third week in November and as I am used to freshwater :cold: lake and quarry diving, a bit cooler that Florida:sunnyday: , up here I have always worn my 7mm 2 peice suit. what should I wear for the springs, my farmer johns(bottom piece), or my long sleeve, shortie(top piece) I am not sure how important it is too have my legs protected, up here we have tons of zebra mussels so you can't go bare legged without injury. Any ideas?

Wore my 1/4 inch (6.25mm?) two piece with hood and was comfy, some people went without hoods though. Here's a comparison, I dove Vortex Spring (FL) in August in my 1/4 inch farmer john and 3mil short sleeve shortie and froze!
Just my .o2, remember I have very little body fat to keep me warm!

better to have it and not need it than vise-versa. Water temp's about 70 degrees farenheit. A long sleeved jacket will normally keep you warmer than a farmer john/jane. When thinking about heat loss underwater... think "head, armpits, crotch". Limit water exchange in these areas, and consider how long you'll be under.

Have fun... be safe... stay warm!
