so i chose to go with the henderson hyperstretch 7/5 and i was thinking about buying there hooded vest too. how much more warmth do you get with a 5 mill hooded vest?

I have a 7/5 hyperstretch and a 5/3 hyperstretch hooded vest. It makes a big difference to me as far as temps go and it is a lot more comfortable than wearing a hood by itself.

It's a huge improvement.

The vest will mute any leakage fomr your back zip first of all. Second, since it integrates the hood your suits neck opening is nn longer a direct route to your skin so it mutes that leakage as well. The extra layer on your core is like icing on your cake. Make sure the hood has a good fit to your face to minimize water exchange, if the Henderson does not then buy another brand. Wear the vest under your ffull suit.
