I admit it! Certified 25 years, and never used a wetsuit! My idea of diving has been trunks and a tshirt in Cozumel! But, now I'm diving colder water, and bought a wetsuit, a 3mm full Henderson Neo-Sport.
Down to about 65 degrees it seems fine, but colder than that I probably need a bigger suit (at the 60 degree thermocline I definitely was uncomfortable). so I now have 6 dives in a wetsuit, a realpro (NOT!). But now the question.
The suit seems to fit pretty well. BUT, I noticed in the water, in the colder level (65 degrees or so), I'll be doing fine, and then I reach for something, or move my arm a bit to look at my console, or do some other movement. COLD SHOT DOWN THE BACK!
Is this normal? Something we just have to put up with, and try not to move ("Doc, it hurts when I do this." "Well, don't do that!").? Or is this a fit problem with the suit? Like I said, it was a noticeable and fairly sudden motion, but nothing real extreme. Like pointing at something with outstretched arm, that sort of thing.
