We returned to Kevin's Reef today to look for the elusive nudis I found yesterday. We got skunked again. fter a somewhat boring dive looking for something smaller than a grain of rice we headed to Little Reef about a mile away. The warm water is having a negative effect. The reef seemed brown and desolate. I was able to find some subjects but not in large numbers.

You have a horrible eye!

You must have a really good eye to see something smaller than a grain of rice!

Curious cause I do find nudi’s very interesting. How the heck do you spot these guys?

All those nice images and you're complaining, Phil? What are water temperatures "over there?" We've hit as high as 78° F along Catalina's leeward coast. Sad thing is that vis is atrocious... and even more so if you are immersed in a huge school of anchovies!

We were enjoying a cooling off period just a few months ago but this sub-tropical business is driving away the crowds on the reef. We had low 60s at Kevin's Reef and 68° just a mile away. I was sweating in my drysuit. Winter can't get here soon enough.

Be proud. Most of us could not take outstanding pictures like that in crystal clear water in perfect conditions. Great job.

I'm particularly impressed with your shots of the blue-banded gobys. I've never been able to get one to sit still long enough to actually compose. Did you discover what they like to eat and disguise yourself as such?
