Hi there, going to be going to the Welland Scuba Park on Saturday morning. This is my first time there (or diving here at home in Canada).

Anyone have an idea what the current water temps are? It's been soo darn hot the last few weeks, I was hoping it might not be "too bad".

Thanks in advance

;)

Incase anyone was wondering. I went today, the conditions are as follows:

64 degrees on the surface
59 degrees at the bottom

10-12 ft visibility

Don't forget your hood.

On June 18 it was 62 on the bottom.

Vis sucked HUGE.

More than that, the motor boat from the rowers and crew of 8 rowers who ignored dive floats sucked the fun out of it.

Went back again July 10 - 72 on the bottom, very comfy.

Vis a bit better.

Issue with a boater who insisted on putting in his gas & electric powered boat at the scuba park. There was a regatta going on and some boats screamed through the park during warm up, but the regatta organizers were quickly on them and ordered them to turn around.

I am looking for a buddy who may be interested in diving at the scuba park on a saturday or sunday morning.
I am a newer diver but keen.....

Form Buffalo area is this Scuba park worth the drive? Have not ever heard of it but if it's decent could save some money from Lake Erie Charters.

I haven't been there but I understand there are a number of items sunk to take a look at. I also don't believe there is a fee to dive there but I may be wrong. I am going to give it a try as it is only a 40 minute drive for me.

Was out to Welland today. The visibility was patchy, generally about 7-10 feet. It was warm all the way to the bottom--I got 76 F, but my computer is slow to settle to temperature. Checked out the wreck, the model "submarine," and the pilings around the swing bridge. There seemed to be more fish than last year: small mouth bass, large mouth bass, rock bass, perch, and carp. A good dive, especially with the fantastic weather.

Hubby & I were diving Welland Canal on Thanksgiving, October 9, 2011. Temp was 64. Viz was good - 15 feet and easy to follow the line.

With the great surface temp of 30 (celcius) there was no better way to celebrate what we're thankful for !
